Project Description

Cheri Bosserman

Metalsmith & Jewelry Artist – Oregon City, Oregon

As a trained metalsmith, bench jeweler, designer and I hand craft every piece of jewelry here in my Oregon City studio.
I studied metalsmithing in Portland, Oregon at Portland Community College where I was accepted into an apprenticeship program to study under a local jeweler. I spent two years in the apprenticeship program gaining a degree in Jewelry Design and Metalsmith.

Jewelry can be more than just something beautiful. It can be a connection to a loved one, a promise of future, remembrance of a special event. We see jewelry as an emotional connection to those whom we love, also as a statement to ourselves that we are worthy, special and beautiful.

After several starts and stops in my life, I began showing my work in local Art shows and Galleries with the support of my family and friends. This has inspired my work focus to be more experimental and Artistic. My designs are influenced by colors of gemstones, objects in nature, movement of water, architecture, found objects and textures.

I use the techniques of metal fabrication and lost wax casting to create pieces made to be worn and last.
Each piece is designed and handcrafted with the hope that you will have a connection to the artist who created it. Hopefully, you love your jewelry as much as my love and joy of creating it.
