Project Description
David Rowe
David Rowe
The music of Wilsonville-based jazz guitarist David Rowe captures the mood of the mid 20th Century. His repertoire features popular songs of the era including jazz standards, Latin, R&B and popular rock. He performs solo and as a duo with upright bassist, Oren Sreebny.
His primary jazz guitar influences include Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Jim Hall, and Kenny Burrell. The result is an instrumental set list that is reminiscent of an era in America much like today, where music provided both platform and respite from social unrest.
David has studied with Dan Balmer, Corey Christiansen, and Frank Vignola. He has been a participant at numerous jazz workshops including Jamey Aerbersold’s Summer Jazz Workshop at the University of Louisville and John Clayton’s Centrum workshop at Jazz Port Townsend.
David is the Music Stage Director of Jazz@Charbonneau, the jazz music component of the Charbonneau Festival of the Arts.
