Project Description

Don Herron

Artist – Wilsonville, Oregon

You will find me in my studio most days. I might be oil painting, or drawing with charcoal, graphite, ink or colored pencil. I do not limit myself to one medium, style or subject, although I would say that my primary style is as a Realist. My inspiration might come from something that I have observed in real life, from a picture, commissioned work, or just doing a piece for a gift. I tend to be drawn to colorful images from nature such as flowers and birds. I enjoy painting and drawing people and older buildings with striking characteristics.

ARTIST BIO for Don Herron – Don was born in Hartford City, Indiana and currently lives in Wilsonville, Oregon. He has been interested in Art since grade school, drawing whenever he could find time between his sports activities. He graduated from Taylor University (a small college in Upland, Indiana), majoring in Art and Business Admin. After two years in the army and over 40 years of management work in manufacturing, Don is enjoying the current season of life (retirement).

He continues to work on improving his painting and drawing skills by watching Tutorials and lots of practice. He gets up everyday with a passion to paint and/or draw for enjoyment and relaxation. He would like people to seen in his work that there is beauty, color, and interesting subjects all around us and hopes they might slow down and enjoy.
