Artist – Portland, Oregon
My focused artistic journey began in my thirties when I developed my floral watercolor technique. This was done in large part as a respite from my work as a social worker directing a program for severely abused preschoolers. Since then, I have found it easy to explore a variety of other media including mosaic, landscape quilting and other fabric art. In the last several years, I have discovered abstract acrylic painting which has been appealing because it requires a balance between elements of the work that I can control and elements that the medium controls.. This fluid art style allows me to address a wide variety of subjects, moods and temperaments. I and a variety of editing mediums to the acrylic paint and use a variety of manipulative methods including hairdryer, self designed tools and blowtorch.
