Project Description
Patrick Campbell
Photography Artist – Tualatin, Oregon
I have been making photographs for 40 years. When the digital revolution started taking hold in the early 2000s, I purchased a point and shoot Nikon digital camera and really caught the photography bug. Over the past 20 years I have honed my skills with a succession of digital cameras and processing tools. Currently I am making images with a high-resolution Nikon D850 DSLR and processing with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
For me, digital capture and processing tools are merely the medium by which I attempt to capture the beauty and majesty of our world. Photography is still about selecting shutter speed and aperture, capturing the best light, and creating the best composition. While the technology has made photography easier, creating a memorable image is still a challenge.
My finished images are dye sublimation prints on metal (aluminum), 8 color inkjet prints and cards, and canvas. The metal and canvas prints are produced by outside vendors and are signed, limited editions. I create my own inkjet prints using an 8 color Canon Pro9000 Mark II printer. All prints are archival quality.
Awards
Nothing recent, as I have not entered any photo contests in several years, but I have won several photo contests in the past
